I really love coffee. Especially that of Starbucks. There’s something so smooth and a bit smoky to its taste. These pictures were shot at another coffee shop, actually physically the closest to my place, Second Cup. Their coffee is more acidic in my mouth, but their pastries are better. At Starbucks I go for a chocolate chip cookie, the few times I actually buy food, and at Second Cup I fall for their lemon poppy seed scone, even if I usually am not a huge scone lover.
I make it a point to visit my favorite cafes several times a week. My work schedule is very scattered throughout the day. I typically work both in the morning late into the evenings. In the time space between, I try to make the most of my free moments. That includes long walks in the city and its parks as well as lunch or afternoon coffee hangouts. I usually pack some healthy food with me along with a magazine. I read some articles and also write down creative things or just journal on the magazine pages. My glossies are full of handwritten notes, and I love it that way.
Time for myself is my way of centering. My work is very sociable. I am always with students. I take pride in being encouraging and focused. That needs counterbalancing. To be able to give as I wish, I need to upload. Those coffee shop lingerings provide me with a savory way to enjoy life when I can in a simple way.
Here’s to Chicago! Together with our funky group of Frenchies. The hubs and his work buddies. It’s interesting visiting the USA with French folks. You see our country from another perspective. The pictured moments took place during our first evening, fresh off the airport. We wanted to touch base with the Windy City by catching some lake breeze a hop away from our Airbnb rental.
Naturally my indulgence wouldn’t have been perfect without some Starbucks liquid TLC. I love those first evenings at a new travel destination. You are just so boosted. Everything is yet to come. Exciting adventures ahead.
I had been to Chicago twice before – but a long time ago. The city left me with a pleasant impression. There are definitely things to experience – comedy shows, park walks, renting Divvy bikes and some shopping, too. The most memorable event for me was the Architecture Tour on a river boat. The sun treated us to a gorgeous Saturday morning. We gave Chicago our undivided attention that its beauty duly deserved.
More Chicago moments to come…
Summer is for leisurely strolls with your sweetheart in your Central Park. That’s exactly what my Sweetheart and I did. We took off in the evening glow and let time flow by.
At this moment I’m in a dulcet place in my life. My work schedule is pretty full, yet relaxed – leaving me with cherished Starbucks dreaming time. That place symbolizes so much more than just consuming mass production java. It is a place where I often go alone to write. I take time to slow down and meditate on life’s small sweetness. I blog and plan new projects. I write out why I should be happy right now. These kinds of times leave me encouraged. I see my day from a refreshed angle.

I love pink. With all my heart. Pink let’s me be who I am – funky, playful and funny. Pink sorts out the people I want to hang out with. People that have an open mind. Individuals that dream and don’t take themselves super seriously.
The Big Apple challenges you as well. It inspires you to write your own unique story in the continuum of millions of stories. Someone has been there before you, done that, yet it is possible to try and make it unique.

I’ve been on the travel mode again. A friend couple and us drove down to Toronto. It was my first time touring North America’s fourth largest city – only Mexico city, NYC and LA beat Toronto in size.
Toronto has many similarities with New York. Yonge Street compares to Fifth Avenue, Dundas Square made me think of Times Square. They had a hefty Forever 21 just opposite another shopping hot spot the Eaton Center. Toronto has a lot happening construction wise. Sky scrapers are being built. That’s a sign of a city going forward. I grabbed a cup of Starbucks and walked around, marveling at all the snazzy graffiti. Big city inspires me to push my fashion experiments. I took home extra energy to walk down my daily catwalk – when catching my transportation off to work.

My little heart definitely says yes to spring. I ditched my winter jacket, and it felt like I had shed ten pounds. Here is an outfit for going out. The red accents give me the chic touch I’m always looking for. We saw two rock bands in concert, Sabaton and Nightwish. What a magical night. As we strolled a bit post show in the nightly downtown, I bathed in contentment.
Look at the cutie that spent some time with us as his parents were under the Caribbean sun. Salto would follow me wherever I went. When clients came, he’d sit next to them, and learn English, too.
Now my heart is jumping of joy since a dear friend from NYC is coming over for a few weeks. I get to have my “soul sister” over for a while and we’ll have time to indulge in Starbucks, red wine, girl talk and plans that make dreams come reality.
In some cases friends become closer than your siblings. Your heart chooses. Affinities are formed. Life is shared.
I believe in letting your journey go as it must. I trust in not forcing relationships. People find time for you if you truly count. That is a sweet and clarifying thought.
I know that today my sister is about to fly over – and I heart that!
