Toronto Bling-bling!

Toronto Bling-bling

This dress is another of my cherished finds from Girls Only store in Soho, New York. I love to throw that glam, a little-over-the-top glimmer into my daily life. I’m just fine going teaching a class frocked like this. My students now expect nothing less of me.

Your style is your personal field – place where you express yourself. I don’t take fashion seriously. I just enjoy the game. I shop a little bit here and there. Never anything too expensive since I believe that creativity – making cheap stuff look like million bucks – suits me better than buying fancy frocks.

Toronto is a place where you can have fun with affordable shopping. The Eaton Center, a big downtown shopping mall, offers interesting stores and China and Korea towns can hide some pretty cool accessories. I had a blast visiting Toronto. It’s a city in full bloom. Lots of construction going on in various places. The feel was a lot like New York – with vibrancy and international influences.

Fall is here now so I accept it, and rejoice over my steaming Starbucks cup as well as tights that can come in different colors. In this outfit I went for black but I have other hues in store…

What’s your attitude towards fall?

I Prefer Blondes

I Prefer Blondes

Off from Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Chinese Theater, there’s a plaque saying “I Prefer Blondes” with Marilyn Monroe’s handprints forever caught into it. It’s been too long I last saw it, but I still remember. Marilyn Monroe was a woman of charm. She dared to wear red lips and to be herself. Her body was curvy and full of life. Men and women alike still find her beauty and lifestyle captivating.

When I wear this shirt – that I found at a small store on the French Riviera – I cannot but take in some of that Marilyn energy. It makes me proud to be a blonde. The kind that uses her head to go places, but who also is thankful for her feminine assets.

Every woman is beautiful, blonde or not. We just have to figure out our personal style, what boosts our unique personality. I love reading fashion blogs and rejoicing over bloggers that have “made it big”, that are collaborating and going to events. I celebrate their success and take in that sweetness. Their looks inspire me and give me ideas on how to enjoy life even more – in my unique blonde head.

Pink Apple

Pink Apple

I love pink. With all my heart. Pink let’s me be who I am – funky, playful and funny. Pink sorts out the people I want to hang out with. People that have an open mind. Individuals that dream and don’t take themselves super seriously.

The Big Apple challenges you as well. It inspires you to write your own unique story in the continuum of millions of stories. Someone has been there before you, done that, yet it is possible to try and make it unique.

Montreal Candy

Montreal Candy

Montreal can be the funniest cities ever. There I was having a leisurely stroll – and then I met a parade of mascots. That was so cool! They were all up for pictures, too, no needing to persuade.

How sweet is that – letting life throw things at you, just like that. My candy colored outfit mingled in with the summery city like a dream. This is life – here and now. No need to think ahead or behind. Simply living and catching the ball once it’s headed your way.

Skyscraper Scrumptious

Skyscraper Scrumptious

When I stayed in this gorgeous apartment in Toronto on the 18th floor I could not but marvel at the view. I like me some urban downtown vibes. I myself live downtown. The buzz excites me.

When lots of people hustle and bustle around, you can make some unexpected encounters. I’m only concentrating on the positives here, you know my character by now. Others will bring the darker news. Right now I’m planning my summer getaways and hopefully NYC city skyline will be mine to see…

Toast to Toronto

Toast to Toronto

I’ve been on the travel mode again. A friend couple and us drove down to Toronto. It was my first time touring North America’s fourth largest city – only Mexico city, NYC and LA beat Toronto in size.

Toronto has many similarities with New York. Yonge Street compares to Fifth Avenue, Dundas Square made me think of Times Square. They had a hefty Forever 21 just opposite another shopping hot spot the Eaton Center. Toronto has a lot happening construction wise. Sky scrapers are being built. That’s a sign of a city going forward. I grabbed a cup of Starbucks and walked around, marveling at all the snazzy graffiti. Big city inspires me to push my fashion experiments. I took home extra energy to walk down my daily catwalk – when catching my transportation off to work.
