Art Nip

My apple of eye hang-out in Paris is the Modern Art Museum. A the big juicy treat, indeed. Outside youngsters skateboard and make their mp3 players chant. I take the first bite and crack the complex by the Tokyo Palace restaurant. Nippon tang blows right at me.

Fashion Waltzing with Eiffel

What a rainy day… but how resplendent a stroll in the Eiffel Tower park. On the way in the subway, I checked out the latest Glamour - found this elegant twenties inspired, what they named Russian disco outfit. Subsequently, I pirouetted in the Eiffel Tower gardens, tarrying to marvel little details, taking refuge under the sturdy old oaks. It felt like being in a magical tree house.

Paris… London… New York

Paris is a caramel filled coffee macaroon, New York a butterscotch double chocolate cupcake… and London… a fruitcake? Last time I went there it was more like a humongous devilish chocolate chip muffin nicely devoured on the go from a Waterloo station baked goodies heaven. This year is something very momentous to me. This city fairy will take a slip over to London in mid-April and then a hop over to New York in late summer. These cities spark me. They each have their personalities, and a reason why I covet their wondrous thrust.

Big In Japan

I stumbled upon these cutesy Nippon postcards when last time visiting the Palais de Tokyo, a Japanese cultural center nestled in the 16th district of Paris. This active cultural spot hosts regularly changing exhibitions, mostly modern but sometimes also socially inclined, and it also has a vibrant bookstore, a reasonably priced coffee shop and now their newest addition, a small clothing store/gift shop. Japan has been on my mind since my dear brother just took a trip over there.

Artsy Getaway

I’m having a tough week. Lots of work. When I get home, it’s a bit difficult to get the load off. I want to relax, but it is as if my system was still running full speed. At times like these I look for detachment in art and entertainment. Beautiful bright colors can do wonders on my mood. The below pictures were taken at my fave’ Paris hangout, the Museum of Modern Art.
