Matisse Challenge

Fashion needs inspirations. Where do I get mine? From art. The sweet Paris rush hour buzz. The sugary smells of the city. Images on the Net. Other fashion blogs. Matisse is one of my favorite painters. I am fascinated by the human body. I am a dancer. Loving and hating my frame, all the same. Mostly loving though. Even learning to be yet kinder.

Above is Matisse’s piece La Danse de Paris which sweetly resides in the Paris Museum of Modern Art. The mural royally fills up the entire hall. I love popping in and being consumed by the bewitching vibes.

Above is what I concocted in my art group as of the first piece this year. My teacher asked us to draw spark from Matisse’s end of the career cut-out techniques. I slid into dancing figures, once and again. Do notice the appearance of shoes. My fashion blogging is having an affect on my artsy bounces…

Some more of my body studies…

And then, jumping out of joy in the Paris business quarter La Défense. Paris has me dance… create… imbibe in fashion. This city has changed me so much.

Now here is the challenge – I would like you to be inspired by Matisse, and why not Paris alike, and post upon these candied, inviting influences. An outfit, a picture, a drawing, a text… in line with your style of blogging. Then come on over and tell me. I might very well have some yummy dark chocolate to send in compensation! I can’t wait to see your creativity jump high, dear cupcakes!

French Touch

Only in Paris would you call a restaurant At The Smoking Dog’s – Au Chien Qui Fume. At times the French are so admirably daring. They eat creamy, luscious desserts – and are proud of it. They leave things to the very last minute.. just so that life would not be utterly boring. Or invite themselves into pictures… like the charming young man in the first collage. There is a lot to learn here about leading a relaxed and scrumptious life.

Natty Neutrals

I had the most delightful of afternoons. Dear mom and sis are in town, and we three city chicks lunched organic, subsequently I paid a visit to the Rodin Museum. This French sculptor dwelt in his sumptuous mansion and studied the human body to a marvel. Being surrounded by all that beauty had my fashion wings ram faster.

Neutrals are one of fall’s frenzies. I waltzed the vogue with cognac accents. After the art blow we enjoyed some mulled wine, all in sharing a hefty cheese platter. Our Parisian waiter disapproved of these chicks’ inventive combination – but oh là là cheesecakes, was it good or what!

Leopard Business

Combining business wear and fashion frenzies is not always the easiest piece of cupcake to concoct. I long to be noticed with my sartorial choices, yet not to shock nor overdo it. Corporate world remains cautious, sober and somewhat conservative. Especially here in Paris. I wanted to roar a tiny tittle in my important meeting, so I opted for daring top meets more tranquilizing bottom looks. When in Paris… for extra confidence, wear a beret, naturellement!

Chanel Cakes

This is the essence of Paris. Fashion regales and treat tangos. Chanel purses, vintage or new. The cute classic black little one, with golden chains, so in this chilly season. Black dust with gold leaves in outfits. Baroque influences. Chains and studs.

Bakeries on every corner. Just like Carrie in Sex and City, a girl falls under the sugary spell. Eclairs, macarons and chocolate-coffee buttercream layered Opéra cakes.

French manicures – look at the trendiest one by Karl Lagerfeld – black base with golden tips. Will you take a sweet hop over to Parisian chic this frisky end of October?

Auroral Chicklit

I’ve been into reading for some time lately. I had forgotten the pleasure of diving into a world far, yet near – the universe of stories and destinies. Paris is my frame as I advance in the city heat, stopping on a bench or a cutesy café to savor a page or tens of them. Binge reading or just a hint of sweetness on the tip of my tongue, all delish’ the same.
