Hel Looks

Greetings from the top of Europe, Helsinki, Finland! If you haven’t made acquaintance with the mother of all streets fashion blogs, then hurry on to Hel Looks. Helsinki is a city of modern art, Marimekko design and funky folks who are not scared to show with frocks what they feel inside. Punky style rules, together with bold seventies vintage prints and time-beautified accessories. Ice-cream here is heavenly – licorice my total tongue-taker!

Susu Paris Chic was chosen by the editor Tari, from an awesome site called Shopaholic, as an unforgettable blog. I am utterly enchanted. Here you can (scroll down to) read about my fashion views.

French Touch

Only in Paris would you call a restaurant At The Smoking Dog’s – Au Chien Qui Fume. At times the French are so admirably daring. They eat creamy, luscious desserts – and are proud of it. They leave things to the very last minute.. just so that life would not be utterly boring. Or invite themselves into pictures… like the charming young man in the first collage. There is a lot to learn here about leading a relaxed and scrumptious life.

FYI

I had a very different post in mind. But this cannot wait. A certain blogger, whose name I do not care to mention here, has written a post about me and my looks. This has resulted in angry comments, that I have the right not to publish here, on my site.

Briefly, those of you who have followed my blog, or know me personally, must have noticed that I have lost quite a bit of weight recently. This has happened due to reasons I choose not to develop here, in a public space. This is my right. I am trying to battle the issue with the help of my loved ones, and any encouragement is welcome. On the contrary, any hurtful comment or angry burst only hurts yet more.

I am sorry that blogging has led me to this sad place where I am today – actually asking if I should go on… I have been open about my doings and life situation. Always trying to leave friendly and uplifting comments on others’ blogs. I do not wish to promote anorexia. I am just a person whose life is made of brighter and darker passages.

Today my eyes are filled with tears. Feel free to leave me a note of encouragement if ever your heart tells you so.

Are You Reddy?

Here as promised… more redness ladies! This is what Dior has concocted for us to be worn as the leaves start falling. Platforms as still sizzling and sturdy, at their utmost height of glory I’d say with tongue in cheek. Shoes in general seem to occupy an important role in the trendy fall apparel. Try swiping through a beautiful silhouette from bottom up and you’ll see – the visual candy-to-the-eye effect is guaranteed. With cinnamon please!

Home Cosy Home

I’ve been back at home for a week now. It has felt so good. In fact it amazes me how well and planted I now feel in Paris. I have been calling this place home for seven years and a year after another things just get more and more familiar. Right from the arrival I rediscover the re-comforting sounds and smells. I find my good old walking routes and beloved scenery. How well can one feel in a place not initially yours!

Getting Going Again

What a wonderful feeling to be alive! What made me, all of a sudden, conscious of this? I’d been having occasional, but nevertheless quite nasty back pains and I finally got some help. Things are not perfect yet, but even a little break is already enough to get me hoppin’.
