Auroral Chicklit
I’ve been into reading for some time lately. I had forgotten the pleasure of diving into a world far, yet near – the universe of stories and destinies. Paris is my frame as I advance in the city heat, stopping on a bench or a cutesy café to savor a page or tens of them. Binge reading or just a hint of sweetness on the tip of my tongue, all delish’ the same.
Isabel Wolf is an English author, writing from London. Her genre could be somewhat a chick lit – entertaining novels for single, working women in their 20s and 30s – yet she’s much more. Humorous and lighthearted, yes, reflective and touching… that too! A Vintage Affair is about a 34-year old Londoner, Phoebe who owns a vintage clothing store and struggles with something painful in her past. Beautiful apparel and heart-trembling human tales weave together an exquisite garment.
This coffee shop is one of my fav’ hangouts in the genteel 16th district of Paris. Just a hop away from the Eiffel Tower buzz. Phoebe’s adventures and I spent some wondrous times in the candy-colored decor. I love how the city life intertwines with the story I’m devouring. A whiff of the fresh coffee attains my nose, I close my eyes for a slit of a second.. could life get any better!
I love the way you write, I can visualize and sense everything you describe !!!
and your comments in my blog always dazzle my senses
I totally understand what you mean about the smell of coffee that makes you want to close your eyes for a few seconds and enjoy the aroma.
I haven’t read a good book in a long time. I think the last one was Memoir of a Geisha.
Thank for visiting Bangor Daily Photo. If I ever make it to Paris again, I would love for you to show me around YOUR Paris.
‘a vintage affair’ sounds wonderful. it combines many of my loves, beautiful vintage clothing, life in london, and a thoughtful story. you are so right to spend time in your candy coloured cafe… a perfect setting for a delicious read. enjoy!
Fashion CHALET – Spreading good mood and enjoyable thoughts is my number one reason to roam around blogland. I’m very glad you appreciate and enjoy. The feeling is mutual!
Ming the Merciless – I’ll be your Paris tour ‘à la Susu’ guide anytime. I’d be honored.
Audrey – I’m sure you’d enjoy the read. It sure is sweet and combines many lovable and sense-tickling elements.
there’s nothing like sitting in a cafe, reading. I love it.
And the one you show is nicely done, not ragged like some of the ones here, from overuse.
Kitty – I try to do only stylish cafés. The atmosphere and décor are so pivotal for me. But of course one does not always have the choice, and a lot of passage does wear things down.
