Helsinki Hop and Pop

I’ll be flying to Helsinki, Finland, on early Saturday morn’. The reason – my dear younger brother is getting married. This will be a very spry sojourn, since I’ll head back to Paris first thing on Monday. I’ve actually grown to like the idea of my lil’ escape from the ever so brilliant Parisian buzz. Tomorrow night after work, I’ll throw together some fun apparel, and just enjoy time with family.

I’ll be staying at my sis’s and turns out she’ll have champagne and strawberries ready when my mom and I breeze in from the airport. My mom, as sweet as always, offered to pick me up. We’ll toast to the spring, and to family get-togethers and to girlishness… and all cute and all dainty! I’ll be wearing a black bat-sleeved tunic, chunky purple and gray jewelry and black skinny pants. Later on, I’ll change into my all glam’ ruffle layered black dress. I’ll accessorize it with gold jewelery, the same hued cardigan and scintillating sequins high heels. I haven’t painted my nails for a while, but for this occasion they’ll receive a buoyant red glaze. By the way, so ‘in’ right now in Paris.

Family is so paramount to me. They are always there, come what may. They are honest with you, and want your best. They remind you of where you come from. No matter where you are today – and it can be a very wondrous of a place – it is good to remember where your roots are. This weekend will be about spending some gal time, since after Saturday’s festivities, my mom, sis and I will have the whole Sunday for us around town. We’ve planned to visit the Helsinki Design Museum. Diving into the fundamentals of Scandinavian design will surely inspire me. I’ll most likely be flying back with plenty of art stuff ideas – just waiting to burst out. So look out, and have yourselves a magical weekend, my dear ones, as well!

  • Hey welcome to Finland Susu! Sun is shining in Helsinki and you know, how happy Finnish people are when sun is shining. I hope that the weather will be as good as today, when your bro is getting married.

It is always so hard to decide what to wear for the wedding. Two of my friends are getting married this summer and I am already panicking what to wear. At least I know what I will wear for firm’s party tonight. Maybe red coloured nails would give me a little bit more elegant look for the party, thaks for the tip!

  • that’s great! weddings are always so much fun. have a gret time!

  • oh have a wonderful time, Susu!
It sounds like a great time to re-bond with your family. Hooray!

  • Spark – It felt good that you wished me welcome! My trip was very quick, but full of good emotions indeed. The dinner took place at the Töölönlahti lakeside – what a magnificent framework it was!

Nubia – I did indeed! It took me the whole week to catch up on my sleep, but it was all worth it.

Kitty – It was so much fun to joke around with my dear ones! So much laughter in only two days.

  • oh what a wonderfully beautiful post. truly inspiring. just the thought of girly things, pretty colours, art and stylish fashion, and most important, time well spent with loved ones… this is the stuff that dreams are made of… only it’s for real:)

  • Audrey – Toasting to girlishness, once and over again! It’s beautiful to be a woman and alive!
