…before giving in to Pop Tart colors – fizzy yellows, pinks and greens that are lurking around the corner for the real springy days. At the moment, for the change of seasons Paris suggests beige in all its delicious hues. Macaroons are still on the lips of everyone, the real connoisseurs get them now in Mango Jasmin, still at Ladurée, where else.
I’ve grown to like the beige based color spectrum over the past years. There is something soothing about dressing in close-to-skin tones. Also, the images of hot chocolate and soft, melting caramel please my mind. I find it interesting that there be a transition period between flashy summery colors and the black and purple palette of the by-gone winter. March is often about opening up to the new, lighter days so comforting tints, smells and connotations can do a great deal in helping us to face new adventures.
My life has been like a macaroon lately. Two hard on the outside, soft and moist on the inside cookies placed one on the top of another, joined together with a creamy, sweet filling. I’ve had to stand up to challenges and expectations coming from work and our on-going apartment search, and at the same time felt a bit vulnerable inside. As if I would have wanted to save that sweet core for gentle folks along the ride of life, not offering it to critical minds.
For me early spring is often about soul-searching. I feel like undergoing small changes. Maybe getting some new apparel, a few pieces to connect myself to the fashion scene, feeling attractive and also boosting my energy levels by spending time with inspirational people. I love discussing and exchanging ideas. My job offers me a tremendous opportunity to do so. The best discussions are the ones that leave you with an almost tangible taste of excitement on the tip of the tongue. You can see, in your mind’s eye, yourself biting into that delicious chewy challenge as you go along hopping away on your inspirational city’s streets. The image stays and gives you wings to fly.

Nubia – Bright colors are so wonderful. I just have to figure out how to wear the all-around sprouting yellow of the up-coming season.

Mmmm delicious post ! I used to hate beige and other neutral colours but have become quite fond of them too – old age creeping in ?! =)
How about a shopping lunch one of these days (Monday ?) at La Défense ? I apologise I have not been proposing any dates, some challenges at work too.
Take care and I’ll email you…
