I feel that I’m settling down more and more to Paris. After six years, it indeed feels like home. We have started to look for an apartment to purchase. The first mortgage is lurking around the corner. Big yet exiting decisions. The center of Paris is calling me, and thus my understanding hubby alike.
Having grown up in more of suburban surroundings, it is quite intriguing that I have such a yearning for city life. Sometimes I wonder what it is really that I find in the downtown whiz. Nature is good and soothing. I like for a season. Being totally cut off from it would be a bummer too.
Paris is my heaven on earth. Why… because it is artistic yet buzzing and modern. This city is a challenge. It needs some turning around about. It doesn’t open up immediately – and that may just be why the city of lights keeps inveigling folks decades after another.

I need peace and quiet…:)
Meillä on rakennusprojekti jäissä. Odotellaan ja katellaan pankkikriisin vaikutuksia ja hotellin tulevaisuuskin on vähän auki.
Onnea teille kodin metsästykseen ja lämmin halaus sateisesta Provencesta!

Maurelita – You just said it… downtown Paris living is “a gotta do” for me. Thanks a lot for the tip – any help is precious so I’ll surely check it out.
Pupuce – Tama metsastys on vasta aluillaan eli katselemme ja tunnustelemme tilannetta hiljakseen. Mukavaa viikkoa sinne Etelaan, toivottavasti saatte aurinkoakin!

oh all the best to you and your hubby on your new nest search. i’m sure you will find the perfect place for you, that will be made even more beautiful by your presence!
indeed paris seems to be an especially special place. i hope to share in its beauty. the other day i was in a shop in soho. it was a france themed shop with lots of beauties from france… soaps and cremes and perfumes and music and stationary. everything was so pretty and smelled so good. i thought how lovely it would be to be surrounded by such beauty everyday…

do you live in the outskirts now? Living in the city would be amazing.
My time in Manhattan and Brooklyn have been very different. I’ve enjoyed both for different reasons. Brooklyn has been much more laid back and easy going. It was very hard to leave Manhattan but strangely I haven’t missed it.
Good luck, dear, on the apartment hunt! in my experience, you discover what you like through the process of looking. It’s a learning experience.

Audrey – Such kind and encouraging words! I only speak for myself, but I find a lot of delicate beauty in this city. It suits me so well. I hope to show you around one day, my dear friend!
Kitty – We live in the outskirts of Paris. It matches a lot of what you wrote about Brooklyn versus Manhattan. In a way I like the calmness of the suburb, but downtown entices me too much at this moment.
